Project Description

- Developing FireSmart prescriptions in the Wildland Urban Interface
- Acquiring burning permits
- Implementing fuel mitigation procedures
- Implementing select-cut clearing and pruning for fuel reduction during ecosystem restoration
- Assessing windthrow and danger tree hazards and prescribing treatments
- Coordinating treatment implementation with adjacent landowners and tenured right holders to optimize benefits
- Assessing forest health and implementing mitigation treatments
- Conducting wildlife habitat assessments
- Producing site-specific land and resource management plans
- Monitoring for compliance with plans and environmental legislation
- Planning integrative and interactive land management approaches that combine trees, crops and/or livestock such as integrated riparian systems, intercropping, windbreaks, forest farming, silvopastoral systems and bioenergy systems
